#226 Wanting to have control
over your life is a perfectly normal human desire, but it’s not
always helpful or healthy. Sure, it’s okay to set up your life in a
way that allows you to conquer the chaos: create a schedule, set
deadlines, hold yourself accountable, and learn to control your
thoughts so that they don’t control you. When we’re attached to
outcomes in our lives, it quickly leads to suffering and pain. We
are co-creators of our lives, but we can’t control what happens.
Truth is, it’s really not up to us to figure out.
Once we can detach from
trying to control and plan life, we’re no longer blocked, but
instead, open to receive life’s magical moments. Take a moment to
remember a time when you felt blissful, in the flow or you were
manifesting things you wanted. You were most likely in a space of
detachment and not focused on trying to control any one thing,
therefore open to receive new possibilities. This state of being is
trust and surrender in the purest form.
And in this episode,
I’ll welcome back best-selling author, speaker, entrepreneur, and
the co-host of the popular Inspire Nation show, Michael Sandler, to
discuss that and dive into so many more beautiful things like
really leaning into desire, trust and surrender, and how things
absolutely always work out - even if we have no idea in the moment
how that’s going to happen. Join us and by the end you’ll
definitely have a lot to work with if you’re looking to shift
towards a better version of yourself.
About Michael Sandler: Michael Sandler is the co-host of the popular
Inspire Nation Show, a transformational, self-help, spiritually
focused podcast and YouTube channel, along with his wife, fellow
coach, and teacher, Jessica Lee. He is a best-selling author,
speaker, entrepreneur, visionary, coach, and the co-creator of
Inspire Nation University and the Automatic Writing Experience
online course.
Having been a
world-class athlete and coach, competing at the international level
in cycling, along with being a competitive speed skater, Ironman
triathlete, and runner, Michael has applied those same training
skills to being a life coach to teachers, leaders, and visionaries.
He is a life-long meditation practitioner and meditation teacher.
Two near-death accidents led to the conception of the Inspire
Nation show, the creation of the Automatic Writing Experience, and
the writing of this book. These devastating accidents led Michael
to a much deeper understanding about the world, of Spirit, and of
our connection to something greater than ourselves. He calls this
"getting the big picture" and from that this book emerged.
Once driven purely by
performance and results as an endurance athlete, Michael survived
the near-fatal accidents that cracked his heart open and helped him
discover a kinder, gentler way of moving through life, one that
arguably makes an even greater impact on others and the planet.
That's what he calls being an open-hearted warrior, and to his
mission to elevate consciousness, shift humanity, and help people
truly discover their greatest self. Despite twin titanium femurs
and hips, as a result of the accidents, he continues to run, skate,
bike, and play in the mountains or explore the world with Jessica,
their daughter Hana, three kitty cats, along with Roo Roo the
Wonder Rooster, always in prayer, always connected to Spirit.
