#162 Recently, I had the pleasure of jumping on the Self Love
Podcast with Kim Morrison. We had an incredible conversation as we
dove into the topic of self-love. Now as a man, I don't find myself
diving into some of these conversations that often, but I felt what
was unearthed through Kim's questions and guidance is an important
topic and I wanted to share it with you listeners here. Enjoy!

Show Notes From The Original
Podcast:
“I truly believe if I want my daughter to
be happy, then I need to be happy. If I need her to express love
then I need to express love. If I want her to… whatever that might
be, I know I need to be that person myself. So the more I can work
on myself slowly each day, bit by bit, small gains every day
instead of trying to compress everything for a month and then
forgetting about it doesn’t work like that right? So the more I see
Ava the more it makes me want to work on being the best version of
myself so I know that it will reflect directly back in her as
well.” Guy Lawrence
This is a phenomenal interview with an extraordinary soul. Guy
Lawrence is a coach, speaker, wellness advocate and entrepreneur.
He is the founder of Let It In, a program designed to help people
bridge the gap between the life they live and the life they truly
want to live. using meditation and the language of neuroscience.
This is facilitated via live workshops, retreats and the online
Live In Flow membership-based community program. He also
supports people via his podcast called ‘Let It In with Guy
Lawrence’. These include conversations with pioneering experts that
go well beyond conventional health, wealth, and wisdom to inspire
change in our lives.
We talk about how our thoughts drive behaviours and how the four
pillars of wellness can show us how to do life with courage ~
awareness, acceptance, intention and inspired action can help us to
do life well. We dive deep into the neuroscience and how we can
lean into ourselves. We need to reclaim our power and
energy, create habits, rituals and practices, and take action in
this work. Create stable foundations and intentionally direct
ourselves towards what it is that we truly want, based on how we
feel. These skills are required to do humanness well.
One of the best practices Guy recommends to feel completely safe
and aware is in meditation and having gratitude. The greatest
meditation you do is when your eyes are open not when we close our
eyes in silence for 10 or 30 minutes a day. Learn to generate real
feelings of gratitude to connect back in. Like sitting in nature
for two weeks as you can imagine would revitalise us in ways we
cannot even articulate.
The heart is a great gateway and a beautiful part of our body to
bring awareness for gratitude. If we are not willing to practice
self-preservation then the future self may stay locked. You can
energetically connect with yourself and others more easily. He said
the most simple things in life are often the most beautiful and it
makes you question what really matters. And his greatest message is
to look fear in they eye and surrender to what is.
And one of the most beautiful parts of this conversation is each
time Guy mentions his precious baby daughter Ava.
